Hello and thanks for stopping by! I’m a proud transplant from Wild & Wonderful West Virginia, but I’ve called the Staunton area home for over 30 years.

My passion for helping others took root early in my career in human resources, where I thrived on connecting with people—whether at job fairs or new hire orientations. That same passion led me to a second calling: education. When my oldest started kindergarten, I felt drawn to the classroom and spent the next chapter of my life teaching everything from elementary to alternative education, and eventually career and technical education at the high school level. One of the greatest honors was hearing a student ask, “What else do you teach?”—a question that always made my day.

After taking early retirement from Staunton City Schools, I like to say I finally “graduated.” Those years were filled with meaningful connections, unforgettable students, and the joy of sharing my love for nature, photography, reading, and technology.

Now, I’ve found a new way to serve my community—helping adults find their perfect place to call home. Real estate allows me to combine my strengths in communication, organization, and heart-led service. Best of all, I get to work alongside my sister as part of our Real Property Sisters team—a dream come true!

And if we ever host an open house together, don’t be surprised if you catch the scent of my signature Amish Friendship Bread in the air. It smells like home—because that’s what this work is all about.

Who graduates from college, gets married, and moves to another state all within two weeks? I did!

Welcome to Kline May, I’m Allison Surber, part of the Real Property Sisters team with one of the top producing brokerages in the Shenandoah Valley. I am originally from the Greenbrier Valley in West Virginia, but the Shenandoah Valley has been my home for over 30 years now.

My life has been about adapting, like trading my busy career in sales to a more manageable position with the school system. Being on the same schedule as my daughter as she grew up made for a much happier home. Now that she’s grown, I am excited to return to sales and live out my passion for real estate.

Living and working in the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County area has given me intimate knowledge of the area and a strong desire to make my home, your home. My commitment to work hard, listen, and follow through is matched with a passion for serving others and a love of real estate that I hope will lead you home in a fun, worry-free way.
