Hello and thanks for stopping to read my bio! I am a transplant from Wild & Wonderful West Virginia but have made the Staunton area my home for over 30 years. I developed a love for helping people in my career as a human resource professional from job fairs to new employee orientations.

When my oldest started kindergarten, I had a desire to be involved in the school which led me to become an educator, first in elementary, then in alternative education for middle and high school, and finally regular high school. I taught career and technical education courses. Having students sign up for more than one of your classes or asking, “what else do you teach?” is the highest compliment a teacher can receive. I was so fortunate to spend multiple semesters with many of our awesome local youth!

I took early retirement from Staunton City Schools, but you might say I finally graduated! I truly enjoyed my time in public education and feel blessed by all the wonderful relationships and experiences. Sharing my passion for nature, photography, reading, and technology with my students was fun and rewarding.

I now enjoy helping “grown-ups” fulfill their housing dreams. My joy comes from using my strengths to benefit others. Witnessing the look of delight or excitement never gets old! As an extra bonus of going into real estate is the opportunity to work alongside my sister as part of our Real Property Sisters team, which is a dream come true for me. I’d love to bake my Amish Friendship Bread for your open house! It smells like home.

Who graduates from college, gets married, and moves to another state all within two weeks? I did!

Welcome to Kline May, I’m Allison Surber, part of the Real Property Sisters team with one of the top producing brokerages in the Shenandoah Valley. I am originally from the Greenbrier Valley in West Virginia, but the Shenandoah Valley has been my home for over 30 years now.

My life has been about adapting, like trading my busy career in sales to a more manageable position with the school system. Being on the same schedule as my daughter as she grew up made for a much happier home. Now that she’s grown, I am excited to return to sales and live out my passion for real estate.

Living and working in the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County area has given me intimate knowledge of the area and a strong desire to make my home, your home. My commitment to work hard, listen, and follow through is matched with a passion for serving others and a love of real estate that I hope will lead you home in a fun, worry-free way.
